- D&J doesn't make side - entrance intakes because of poor air distribution. Direct inlet airflow can overload cylinders, cause large temperature differences in exhaust gases (up to 400 degrees), lead to piston issues, and power imbalance.
This intake manifold is designed for 2003 - 2007 Dodge Ram with 5.9L Cummins engines. To use it, first make sure you have all the mounting hardware that comes with the product. Then, install it in place of the old intake, using the stock intake horn locations and fuel setups. When using your vehicle, keep in mind that D&J doesn't recommend side - entrance intakes due to potential issues. For maintenance, regularly check the mounting hardware to make sure it's tight.
