It's not right to have a heavy - duty truck with a small diesel fuel tank. S&B Tanks presents their 52 - gallon Midship Replacement Fuel Tank for Cummins engines. Unlike many other tanks, this S&B 10 - 1021 only sits 2.4' below the OEM tank, so you don't lose ground clearance when installing a larger tank.
This S&B tank lets you reuse your factory - sending unit without any changes. Just take it from your factory tank and put it on the S&B tank. It's so similar to a factory replacement that most factory skid plates can be bolted onto it.

Notes
- Using an auxiliary fuel tank with S&B tanks will void the lifetime warranty.
- The fuel gauge works, but the distance - to - empty reading won't be accurate as there's no way to update the fuel tank size for it.
- Since the S&B Tank is taller and reuses the OEM sending unit and float, the gauge will stay on full for the first 8 - 10 gallons.
- The nozzle at high - flow fuel stations (truck stops) can't fill the tank automatically.

This S&B 52 - gallon midship replacement fuel tank is for 2005 - 2023 Dodge/Ram 2500/3500 trucks with 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins engines. To install, first remove the factory - sending unit from your old tank and place it in the S&B tank. You can then bolt most factory skid plates onto the S&B tank. Remember, using an auxiliary fuel tank will void the lifetime warranty. The fuel gauge will work, but the distance - to - empty won't be accurate. Also, at high - flow fuel stations, you can't fill the tank automatically. As for maintenance, keep an eye on the tank's fittings. Since it has no drain, make sure there's no blockage in the embedded 1/2' NPT fitting. And don't forget that the dry weight of the tank is 40lbs, so handle it with care during installation and any future work.
