If you're into long - haul trucking or hate frequent refueling, these S&B tanks are a game - changer! They can extend your truck's range up to 1100 miles (about 1600 kilometers). And the best part? They offer plug - and - play installation.
Part Number: 10 - 1009
Features
- Midship 55 - gallon tank for more fuel capacity
- Adds 24 extra gallons of fuel
- Mounts right in the stock location
- Takes up the space in front of the OEM fuel tank
- The fuel gauge works, but the distance - to - empty reading is based on the stock fuel capacity. You'll have a 1100 - mile range, but the gauge may show 620 miles (20 MPG * 31 gallons)
- Made of 1/4' cross - linked polyurethane
- Not compatible with the OE skid plate
- Dimensions are 74.13' X 15.94' X 23.36'
- No drain

- No sump
- Dry weight is 40 lbs
Notes
- The fuel gauge works, but the distance - to - empty reading won't be accurate. There's no way to update it for the new tank size.
- The OEM sending unit and float are reused. Since the S&B tank is taller, the gauge will stay on full for the first 8 - 10 gallons.
- High - flow fuel station nozzles can't fill the tank automatically.
- Auxiliary fuel tanks will void the lifetime warranty on S&B replacement tanks.

Using your new S&B 55 - gallon replacement fuel tank is a breeze. First, for installation, it's designed to mount right in the stock location of your 2005 - 2024 Dodge Ram 2500 - 3500 Mega Cab Short Box with a 5.9L/6.7L Cummins engine. Just plug it in and you're good to go. When it comes to refueling, keep in mind that high - flow nozzles at truck stops won't fill the tank automatically. You'll have to do it manually. Also, the fuel gauge will work, but the distance - to - empty reading won't be accurate as it's based on the stock fuel capacity. The gauge will stay on full for the first 8 - 10 gallons because the OEM sending unit and float are reused. For maintenance, since the tank is made of 1/4' cross - linked polyurethane, it's quite durable. But be aware that using an auxiliary fuel tank will void the lifetime warranty. So, make sure to take good care of your tank and avoid any improper installation or use to keep the warranty valid.
