Fits: 2007.5 - 2018 Dodge Ram with 6.7L Cummins and 68RFE. The Sun Coast 68RFE - BFP Billet Flex Plate is a game - changer for your truck. When you want to transfer power smoothly to the ground, this flex plate is essential. The high torque of your Cummins engine, combined with a well - designed torque converter, can transfer torque without slipping. The flex plate is bolted to the crankshaft, and then the converter is bolted to it. Torque from the engine goes through the flex plate to the torque converter and then to the transmission's input shaft. But with increased engine torque and no converter slip, a stock flex plate can crack or have its center ripped out.
Our Sun Coast billet flywheels are made by CNC machining from a forging, which gives them great strength. Reliefs are machined between the converter mounting area and the crank flange to allow some flex. We designed this flexible billet flywheel to flex while adding extra thickness to prevent cracking. Using better materials and a superior manufacturing process, we made it stronger. It meets or exceeds all SFI specification 29.3 requirements for materials, mechanical properties, design, and rotational integrity.

Notes
- Drag racing vehicles that run 11.99 seconds or quicker in the 1/4 mile, 7.49 seconds or quicker in the 1/8 mile, or any vehicle exceeding 135mph need a SFI - certified flywheel flex plate. In 2008, the SFI specification for automatic transmission flex plates in diesel applications changed from 29.1 to 29.3. The new rules say the flex plate material can't be stamped metal like many OEM and aftermarket ones. To meet the SFI 29.3 requirements, you should replace the flex plate every three years.
How to use: First, make sure your vehicle is a 2007.5 - 2018 Dodge Ram with a 6.7L Cummins engine and 68RFE. Bolt the flex plate to the crankshaft, and then bolt the torque converter to the flex plate. That's how the engine torque gets transferred.
Notes: If your vehicle is used for drag racing and runs 11.99 seconds or quicker in the 1/4 mile, 7.49 seconds or quicker in the 1/8 mile, or exceeds 135mph, you must use this SFI - certified flex plate. Also, remember the SFI specification for diesel automatic transmission flex plates changed in 2008, and the material can't be stamped metal.
Maintenance: To keep the flex plate working well and meet the SFI 29.3 requirements, replace it every three years.
